Rev. Bill Blomquist

Early Life
Raised Episcopalian, Bill grew disenchanted with the Church and, upon graduating from high school, quietly “self-graduated” from church altogether. A season of restless seeking followed—moving from psychedelics into the occult—when he was swept up in the Jesus Revolution and finally surrendered his life to Jesus (at 2:20 a.m. on a stormy beach in central Florida). Ever since, Bill has been sharing God’s love and the power of the Holy Spirit with others.

Influences
Bill’s theological and experiential formation was deeply shaped by the renewal movements of the late 1970s and 1980s, particularly under the influence and mentorship of John Wimber, Mike Flynn, and Francis MacNutt.
For more on his seminary education and ministry experience, see his travelogue here.

Over the years, his ministry has included youth ministry, missions, street ministry, outreach, and leading pilgrimages to the Holy Land—each contributing to a pastoral style that is both grounded and Spirit-led.

Today
Today, Bill serves an Anglican parish as pastor, worship songwriter, worship leader, and spiritual director, with a joy-filled passion for helping people encounter the presence of God in real and lasting ways. As retirement approaches, he looks forward to having more time to share the goodness of God through ministry workshops, music, and pilgrimage travel.

Through seasons of joy and loss—including the ending of a long marriage and the grace of new beginnings—Bill’s ministry is shaped by a deep awareness of real life, human fragility, and the steady faithfulness of God.

When he is not ministering, Bill loves sailing, kayaking, and walking beaches with his wife, Cinnamon, whom he considers his favorite conversation partner and fellow dolphin-spotter.
